Scott has more than 30 years of experience in engineering, design, and construction of new and existing homes in our area. His expertise within these fields gives him tremendous knowledge of the entire process. 

 

J.S. Thompson Engineering, Inc. was founded in 1998 after Scott realized the need for quality engineering services performed in a timely, logical, and cost-effective manner.  Over the history of this company our technicians have refined the engineering process with a top-notch team of professional engineers and supporting staff.  His knowledge, leadership, vision, and commitment to our valued customers have allowed us to become one of the best residential engineering firms in the Triangle.  Scott oversees all areas of the business and also performs inspections and analyses of existing and new construction to ensure the best structural and cost effective solutions for all types of structural issues.

Matt Strother, PE

Matt has seventeen years of experience at J.S. Thompson Engineering, Inc. assessing and solving structural and geotechnical challenges associated with residential construction.  His responsibilities include the day to day management of field inspections, plan engineering, customer relations, and resolving expedited requests for all of our customers.  Other duties include risk management and management of company resources with the president.  He ensures the company runs smoothly with coordination of activities between different departments and constant refinement of organizational effectiveness.  Matt specializes in design challenges associated with renovation and additions and the resolution of unique structural problems encountered during the construction process.
